Meet Our Baby Girl

To say that I feel as though I have had my head below water for the last couple weeks is an understatement.  This delivery and second child did indeed knock the wind out of me.  But, I am recovering and re cooping my energy every day.  Things are looking up and getting better.  And, this PRECIOUS baby girl is the new LOVE in our lives.
Daddy and Mommy are so proud of her and so in love, and Kaden is CRAZY about his baby sister.
Our delivery was a scheduled induction on Friday, July 13, 2012.  We called the hospital at 5 a.m. that morning, and then headed off for our delivery!  We arrived the hospital at 5:30 and they did the usual fifty million questions, drew lots of blood, started my iv with fluids, and we waited for the doctor to come around.  He showed up about 7:30 and checked me, I was dilated about a 2 and still pretty closed in the cervix.  He inserted a pill to soften/loosen the cervix.  I had to stay in the bed for 45 minutes after that, then Mom and I took off to walk the halls.  I walked all morning!  Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth up and down the halls.  I was having pretty good contractions by noon when the doctor came back to check me.  I was only dilated to a three at that point and a lot looser and open in the cervix.  He broke my water at noon.  Which means I couldn't get up any longer.  I will NEVER forget the amount of fluid that came out with the breaking of the water.  The real fun started after my water was broken.  The contractions got hard and close together, just like with Kaden.  I worked through it until about 1:20, the nurse checked me and I was at a 6!  I decided to request my epidural at that point.  That took another 20 minutes to get the anaesthesiologist there and the epidural in.  So, around 2 p.m. I had my epidural in, it only took on the right side, JUST like with Kaden.  It finally SLOWLY moved over to my left side with repeat doses.  By the time I was pretty numb, it was over! And, I had horrible back labor with her that the epidural never numbed, she was face up instead of face down and killing my back coming out.   At 2:50 I was fully dilated and pushed once for my nurse.  She told me to stop until Dr. Doughtie arrived.  Dr. Doughtie arrived quickly, I pushed two or three times and she was out!

There she is!
She looks JUST exactly like Kaden did when he was born!
Daddy cutting her cord!
And, there's our GIRL!

Thank GOODNESS it's OVER!!!
Kallie Ann Mabe
Born at 3:04 p.m.

9 pounds, 2 ounces
21 inches long

Just for fun, here is the same picture of her big brother Kaden!  We think they look so much alike!
Can you see it?  When Kallie came out, I said she was Kaden's clone.  It was like a flash back to his delivery, she looked JUST like him to me and Mom and Lance.  Even Dr. Doughtie, whom we are so thankful delivered both our babies, stopped, looked at her and said, Yes, she looks like Kaden.
Our red headed GIRL!!!
Kallie meeting Mommy for the first time.  LOVE her!!!  Looks so much like Kaden here!
Flashback:  This photo above is Kaden Angus meeting me in 2009!
Baby Kallie came out with this SAD lip.  Do you think she knows how to get what she wants?
Meeting Daddy!
Momma getting wheeled off to surgery for a tubal right after delivery.
Back from surgery, Kaden anxiously awaits the nursery bringing baby sister back from her bath.  He couldn't even contain himself he was so EXCITED to meet her!
My sweet labor and delivery nurse is from my hometown and went to high school with me.  She made Kaden a BIG BROTHER bracelet because he wanted one like Mommy and Daddy.
Daddy was so excited to write down her birth information on all the candies and cigars he bought to hand out to visitors!  And, he couldn't wait to call everyone!
Baby Girl back from her bath in the nursery.
Kaden was beside himself with excitement.  He could not wait to meet her!
Look at the joy and excitement on his face.  This is a priceless moment captured for us.
We love these two sweet red headed babies so much!
Look at Kaden's face!  So happy and excited to finally meet his baby sister!

Ready and Waiting for Baby Girl..

We are ready and waiting for little Miss to make her GRAND arrival when ever she pleases.  I am in my 38th week of pregnancy, so not too much longer!  I wanted to get this last post up before she arrives...

Her bed is ready and waiting!
Bassonnette is ready and waiting!!!
I went and had the Belly Cast done around 35 weeks pregnant.  I thought it was such a neat memory to have of my second and final pregnancy.  Wish I would have know about these with Kaden.

I got her sweet name hung up on her wall.  I have to wait for Mom to come over and make the bows I want above each letter.  Love the way her name looks though!  Thank you, Renee for making these sweet letters for her, they match perfectly!

I think her room turned out so sweet and pretty for a baby girl.  I am BEYOND anxious to meet her at this point, 38 weeks and 3 days along.. AND we wait for BABY SISTER TO ARRIVE!!!

Our June Wrapped Up

In June, we did lots to pass the time with Kaden and enjoy our time with just him! Kaden has started doing so many new things this past month, like riding his bicycle with training wheels all by himself. He loves it and looks so grown up going up and down the driveway, makes me want to cry watching him. I can not believe how fast he has grown up.

Kaden LOVES LOVES LOVES his BABY SISTER and can not wait for her to ‘pop out’! He checks on me a hundred times a day and hugs and kisses my belly and says, “Ummmmnnn baby sister or ummmmnnn baby Kallie.” He also says, “Momma, is big baby hurting you? Or is she kickin’?”

He is going to be the BEST big brother!

These pictures were taken at 37 weeks along!

Kaden has enjoyed his new slip n slide…

Kaden took a good fall at Granddaddy and JJ’s while running up and down the concrete drive playing with the kids. It looked a lot worse than it was, and luckily healed up quickly, in just a few days!

We took Kaden early one morning to see the hot air balloons take off for the Dairy Festival. They were so beautiful to watch!

Kaden ate donuts while we watched the balloons fill up and take off!

There are no words to express how much we love this little boy!

Later that morning we went to the Dairy Festival Parade.

Kaden picking up candy!

We went to Lance’s cousins sons wedding in June. It was a beautiful wedding, though very hot for a pregnant girl outside, and I was having contractions the whole night and ended up going to the hospital to get checked. Just false labor!

Other than that, we have just been hanging out inside in the A/C. I have to rest a lot and the heat immediately drains me.

I did do a few Thirty One parties in June and ended the month very well. Two of my new recruits QUALIFIED in June, so July 1st I was able to promote to Sr. Consultant! YAY! So excited for meeting that goal and so proud of my team that has grown so quickly!

We are just cleaning and organizing the house and prepping for baby girl!
