Kallie’s Baptism

When Kallie was three months old we had her baptism service at church.  Our church has been such a blessing to our family.

Talk about an emotional mess, I was bawling while the preacher carried Kallie all throughout our church congregation and they sang Jesus Loves Kallie to her.  Sweetest thing ever.

From the earliest times, children and infants were baptized and included in the church. As scriptural authority for this ancient tradition, some scholars cite Jesus’ words, “Let the little children come to me…for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs” (Mark 10:14). However, a more consistent argument is that baptism, as a means of grace, signifies God’s initiative in the process of salvation. John Wesley preached “prevenient grace,” the grace that works in our lives before we are aware of it, bringing us to faith. The baptism of children and their inclusion in the church before they can respond with their own confirmation of faith is a vivid and compelling witness to prevenient grace.

This is Granny Cay, my step mom, who hand made Kallie’s gown.  So beautiful and special.

Four Months Old

Kallie Ann, you are growing so fast the last two weeks and changing every single day.  You have gained a lot of weight this past couple weeks and are starting to get those baby fat rolls.

You are really getting active with your hands, picking things up and getting them to your mouth.  You are starting to coo and verbalize sounds with us.  You get excited and crow out loud and laugh.

You are eating a 6 oz bottle every 3-4 hours and rice cereal by spoon at night and sometimes in the morning.  You sleep all night long.  8 hours at least, you are a GREAT sleeper.  You are always happy unless your hungry, sleepy, or wet.  You are an easy baby.

I’m not sure what you weigh until we go for your 4 month well visit.  You have just went into 3-6 month clothes, and you still wear a 2 diaper.  Your hair is growing and we are seeing the red more and more each day.  You love your big brother and he adores you, hugging, holding and kissing you all the time.

Happy Four Months baby girl!  We love you so!
