Kaden started first grade on September 2. So we have had two full weeks of the "Back in the groove of things" routine. It's crazy busy and we are tired and sleep well at night, but I so prefer the "SCHEDULE" of the school year to lazy summer down time with no schedule or routine. I mean, it's ok to have a week or two off, but after that, I get out of my groove and just get lazy. I guess I'm saying I need structure and calendars and activities and busy-ness in my life to stay normal.
It's crazy how long it has been since I blogged. I think I am going to come back to blogging. I have missed it. I did away with social media a week or so ago completely. I deleted my facebook account. I originally started documenting our family on this blog while pregnant with Kaden, some SEVEN years ago! CRAZINESS!!! I blogged regularly through Kaden's 3rd year and then I started only using facebook and fell sorely behind on blogging once Kallie got here some 3 plus years ago. I tried, and I swore I wouldnt not document her just like I did Kaden, but it's just hard with that second kid to keep up with everything and the hours in the day just aren't enough to document it all. Facebook turned into hours and hours of waisted time scrolling looking at everyone else's stuff and being distracted from my family time and work time by scrolling and looking. I tried to set timers to look at facebook only a couple times a week, and caught myself not holding to that either, so I am an all or none person. And my life is so much more important than whats on facebook, so I decided to delete my account. And, you know what? I'm still alive!!! And, a lot less distracted and a lot more focused on my kids and work. Imagine that. So, here I am back at the blog to remember my kids growing up WAY TO FAST!!!
Kaden is 6! He is a first grader. He is so tall and growing like crazy. He needs a size 7 shorts and pants, size 7 shirts, and size 2 shoe. He loves apples, and eats one everyday. He loves BACON!!! He has lost three teeth the one on top and two on bottom right in front, all over the summer, and already has the two on bottom back in place and the top one is starting to come back in now. He likes Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Super Friends, Minecraft, and dressing up in costumes is still a favorite pass time of his. He has a great imagination and loves to play outside. He has two pet turtles, one we have had for one year next month, inside, (impressive) and one we have had a month outside. He has a kitten named Indercat that was born on April 30. We brought the kitten home in July. Kaden likes to build things and use a saw and hammer. He loves reading and can zip through his first grade fluency reading homework, I am so proud of him. His favorite place to go is Sweet Frogs and Granddaddy & JJs ihouse. He loves when Daddy is home, and he got to ride with Daddy in the Walmart truck for the first time last week to work and then home. It was cool! Daddy was super excited to take him!
Kaden loves school. He loves going to church and his Wednesday night church activities. He loves learning scripture and even sings occassionally, which always surprises me. He loves music, and got a guitar a couple weekends ago, we took it to the music store and got new strings put on it. He want to learn to play it, so lessons may be in the near future for our boy.
