Well, of course, when I no longer have internet access at my house the GREAT things in life happen. Kaden's first birthday was a BLAST! He had a great birthday, with two parties! What more could a little guy ask for?
We had birthday party number one on his birthday, February 2, 2010, at his J.J. and Granddaddy Mabe's house. He wasn't quite sure what to think of the cake, but once he finally got a taste, he was all for it. It was a yellow cake with white icing. I'm not brave enough to try anything else just yet! He smooshed that cake until it was unrecognizable.

He had a GREAT party, and got more gifts than he got for Christmas...Crazy! We even put on the invites no gifts, just happy birthday wishes, yeah right, they bought gifts anyway! :) And, we are so thankful for all the people who love Kaden so much!
The second party was at my Granny Fisher's house for all my side of the family, the following night. So, Kaden had a smash cake two nights in a row. I'm sure the third night he was wondering where his cake was! Ha!

He had fun at both parties and really made a mess of his cake!
One year well visit went well, except the shots part! He weighs 27 lbs, and is 32 inches tall. He is as always in the 95% for height and weight. He's just a big kid! We have started weaning off formula and bottles and onto whole milk. This is a whole nother topic for later. It isn't as easy as I thought it was going to be.
Kaden is wearing size 4 diapers, and pretty much all size 24 month clothes. He can still wear some 18 month clothes, but not many! His Nana (my mom) bought him a new pair of tennis shoes yesterday. Kaden is eating a lot of finger foods and loving all the things he tries for the most part. Kaden, you LOVE bananas, mandarin oranges, pancakes, scrambled eggs, animal cookies, oyster crackers, cheese, whole milk, orange juice, apple juice, water, biscuits or rolls, tiny pieces of chicken, you love grilled veggies with mommy and daddy, and your still a big fan of your yo baby yogurt. You really like to feed yourself now, and the dogs!!! The dogs are in love with you, because they get to eat too! You are sleeping 8-10 hours at night in your crib and in your own bedroom. You are a great sleeper. And you usually take two good long naps each day as well. You are walking every where and any where you want now. You love looking out the front glass door at the animals. You have 4 teeth now, two on top and two on bottom and you are getting another top one in right now. So, 5 teeth! Finally, we get some teeth! Your hair is growing and you are finally getting some curls in the back of your hair. You are still red headed and have bright beautiful blue eyes. Everywhere we go people say what a pretty baby you are. They LOVE red headed babies! Your Daddy and I think you are the most precious thing in the world, and you make us laugh so much!

February brought us a huge snow storm in Northeast Texas. We haven't had this much snow since I was a young child, or maybe even ever! It was absolutely beautiful around here. We got out of school on Friday for a snow day, so I really got to get out and photograph and enjoy the beauty of the day.

Kaden liked the snow. He pointed to it, and said 'Bite.' So, we were letting him eat some snow!!!
Lance made a snowman in five minutes or less, that is why it looks so sad. He also made me some snow angels while holding Kaden. Kaden thought it was so funny.
My ten year old dog, Piper LOVED the snow. She has never really seen snow before, and Lance would through snow balls, and she would catch them and eat them. It was a hoot! Sadie, my other dog, wasn't so fond of the snow, as I figured she wouldn't be. She's too much of a Pris!

And, our petting zoo in the snow!
This tree in our front yard is my favorite. It will be covered in purple flowers in about a month and I'm sure I'll post pictures of it again, as I did last year. But, it looked absolutely gorgeous covered in snow.
This is the view from down our county road. Unbelievable for this part of the country. It looks like a card or a picture from somewhere else.
We made some snow ice cream and Kaden got to enjoy his first ice cream and snow ice cream all at once. He like it! Of Course!
The snow melted away as quick as it arrived and we are finally having a good weather day today with sunshine. It got up to 60 yesterday afternoon. I am SO SO SO SO SO SO ready for warmer weather.
The 30 day shred is going great! I am on day 22, I have only lost two pounds total, down to 145, but I CAN WEAR MY PRE-PREGGO JEANS NOW, and they actually don't look like a muffin top hanging out the top of them. SO EXCITING! I have been wearing my old pre-pregnancy clothes the last three days, and it feels SO good! And, it's so exciting, it's like I have a whole new wardrobe again. Some of these clothes I haven't worn in almost two years. Now, I have been following MOMMY BRAIN BLOG about her weight loss and her 30 day shred. She and I are the same size and had about the exact amount of weight to loose. However, I completely disagree with her post this week. The Shred has helped me SO much. I haven't lost more actual weight YET, (only 2 pounds) but my body is toned and I am starting to really see my abs. I've NEVER had abs in my WHOLE life and this program cuts them out on you! I am SO excited about this, as my abs are my problem area. Anyway, I have missed NO workouts and I have even done 2 workouts some days. Go ME!!! I am feeling much better about myself in general, and I am motivated to workout now. When I started seeing results a few days ago, about day 16 or 17 of the workout, I really got more motivated. It was HARD those first two weeks when I wasn't loosing any weight or really seeing any change. But, it has been worth the wait and I am SO glad that I hung in there to see the results that are coming. There is no way I am going to stop doing the thirty day shred when my 30 days is up. This workout system is going to be hanging around and I'm going to be doing it for a while to come!
Just a couple more Kaden moments...
Hangin' out standing on a box...
Playing with Piper... He LOVES Piper
In a birthday gift bag...
In the car with all his babies...I love this one!
Just being cute!
Ya'll have a GREAT weekend!

No computer anymore!
That's right folks! I am no longer going to be able to access my blog or internet daily. I have purged this (the internet) out of my life for two weeks now, and believe it or not, I have survived. Gasp! That's right folks, we can still live without the internet. Oh My! It has shown me the incredible amount of time that I WASTE sitting in front of the computer instead of spending time with my baby. Which is more important? My baby! So, here's the deal folks...
I am only going to be able to use the internet on Saturday mornings. That means once a week I will be getting online and checking our all your blog updates, because I LOVE staying connected to all my bloggy friends this way. I will be checking email and face book once a week. That is it. One day a week, on Saturday mornings. The rest of the week I have NO internet. NONE. In fact, my husband and I disconnected our wireless internet yesterday. I have no computer access at home now. I will be going to breakfast on Saturday mornings for a little 'me' time at a wi-fi hot spot, (gotta find one first!), with my laptop in hand.
This is the plan. So, though it may seem like I am dropping off the face of the blog, I'm not, just yet. I will post something each weekend about my Kaden, don't you worry!
Speaking of Kaden, we have a BIG birthday and one year well visit post to do very soon. (This weekend, so check back!)
While I've been away from the internet, I've been doing the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels, which is quite honestly KILLING me! I started 13 days ago. Just for the record, I HAVE NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE worked out for 13 days consistently without taking a break. I AM DETERMINED! AND IT IS SOOOOOO HARD YA'LL!!! I have only lost half a pound, but my body is LOOKING different. And even though the weightloss that I had hoped for with this workout has not happened yet, I am confident that if I keep it up, I will get there. I started the shred on level one again for 5 days, by the 6th day I was so SICK of workout one and not as sore anymore, so I moved the level 2, which is still where I am. IT IS HARD! (As you all know, if you read my blog, I have started the shred MANY times in the last year. Each time I've never made it past 8 days consistently, and I've ALWAYS LOST WEIGHT IMMEDIATELY! I've always stayed one level 1 in previous attempts because it was so hard for me the times before, this is why I am sick of level 1.) So, level two is a nice change, but it is a lot of upper body work (arms) which has ALWAYS been my weakness, (I have NO upper body strength) but I may when Jillian Michaels gets through with me. Level 2 is really challenging me to PUSH my body and I am HOPEFUL that some day soon, I will be able to move to level 3. I watched level 3 the other day just for fun after my level 2 workout, I basically think Jillian is A CRAZY LADY! But, as she says, she gets results. You have to push yourself, to realize your strength, and once you realize your physical strength it will transform itself into every other facet of your life. Wow! Those words are powerful! Plus, she talks about jean shopping, and even better swim suit shopping in level two to keep you motivated when you just want to quit. It works for me everyday, I keep pushing!!!
To sum it all up, I am proud of myself for being successful with this workout. 13 days!!! Only 17 more to go and I have made it through the 30 day shred, I am almost half-way there ya'll! I am STILL at 146 lbs. I think I need to hide the scales, because I jump on every morning expecting great rewards for my efforts. When in reality I know, it's going to take time! As my husband said to me last night (who doesn't think I need to loose weight) "Rome wasn't built in a day!"
See ya'll this weekend!

Happy First Birthday Kaden Angus!
It is amazing to me that it has been one year this afternoon that I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, and happy little boy. Kaden Angus Mabe was born February 2, 2009 at 4:20 p.m., on a Monday. We got to bring him home on February 4, 2009, Lance's 40th birthday. Lance says that this is the best birthday he could ever dream of. Kaden is the most precious gift to us that we could ever receive.
It's amazing how much you change when you have a baby. Lance and I are both completely different people than we were one year ago today. When you hear people say that having a baby changes everything, I never dreamed it was so true. It completely changes every aspect of your life, but for the better. There is nothing like it in this life. And, I never understood how much my mom loves me until having Kaden, now I know. It also changes your respect and relationship with your parents. Now we know what we put them through, and feel bad for it! And, I was a GOOD kid! :)
Kaden has had MANY MILESTONES THIS YEAR. Here are a few of our favorite memories...

Happy, Happy First Birthday Baby Boy! We love you with all our hearts!
