Vacation Time!

I have to apologize for my more than a week long bloggy vacation. We have been busy enjoying Mommy's summer vacation so far. It all started with Kaden's four months well check, which I already reported here about, except his shots. He, again ran a low grade fever and was fussy/iritable for about a day afterwards. I don't blame him, I mean GEEZ! 6 vaccinations at once. That has to overwhelm the body, and it just makes me wonder if it is really safe or healthy to get all those shots at one time. I'd be more than grouchy, too!

Our buddy boy, Kaden, has been teething like crazy! He drools enough to wear a bib 24/7. And, he chews, sucks, gums EVERYTHING he can get to his little mouth. He has developed quite the personality, and his Daddy & I just LOVE it! We are having a BLAST with him right now. He is TOO, TOO funny and cute! He is such the GOOD baby. Always happy and content and plays so well with his toys.

We went to our appointment at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas. First of all, what am amazing place to visit! They are truly doing wonderful things in that place. And, all of the services and medical care/treatment is completely free of charge, which I was not aware of. Even if you are insured, you do not pay. It is run completely on charity and donations, and you have to be referred to get a visit or treatment. So, if you ever have the opportunity to donate to the cause, it's a good one. As far as Kaden goes the orthopedic surgeon says that he is a perfectly healthy and happy baby and that he would not even consider touching or thinking about treating his one webbed toe. He said it is fine the way it is. Which is really what my pediatrician said they would probably say and what we were kind-of hoping for as well. So, it is just his signature, trade mark, birth mark, whatever you'd like to call it. He'll always have something to show people, or not, it's up to him to decide.

I can NOT believe that I already have four months of pictures filled up in this baby's first year frame, it is going by TOO fast!



Our little pumpkin pie, Kaden, has been eating rice cereal for about a full week now every evening with a spoon. I am no longer putting cereal in his bottles at night or morning, I am spoon feeding him cereal, and he seems to like it. Imagine that? Our boy just likes to eat! We are going to try to wait though until about 6 months to start solids though. (Just rice cereal for now)





Kaden's J.J. bought him this new bouncy bouncy this week, he seems to agree with it well.





We have been practicing a lot of tummy time this week, trying to get Kaden to like it more than he does, but he's just not a fan. And, he isn't rolling yet, either. He will roll to his side but can't seem to kick that big thigh and leg over to completely roll over alone. We are being very patient and waiting for him to do this on his own, because I know once he starts he'll roll all the time!!!



Here's a picture of Kaden riding his horsey that Granddaddy Nolan (my Dad) built for him. And, his Daddy bought the red cowboy hat for him in Arizona on one of his work trips.

Kaden & I went to Chloe's dance recital last Sunday with my Granny. My pictures are not good, but here are a couple of the dancing girl! It was a hoot!

And, I hate that she had the rose right in front of one of her eyes here, but here she is afterwards.




When we were leaving the auditorium after the recital, I guess this squirrell was caught off guard when all the people poured out of the doors. He ran to the top of the stucco wall and held on for dear life. It stayed there FOREVER, I guess until everyone had left to come down, that couldn't have been comfortable.

I was driving down the road the other day and noticed the prettiest blue sky I'd ever seen, in a while anyway. I just stopped and soaked in the view, and thought how pretty it was, and how increadible this earth truly is.







This week marked one year ago since my Papa Fisher passed away. While I was on my sceanery taking kick, I decided to photograph one of my favorite places. My Papa & Granny's house, right on the lake. I love it, it is TRULY home, and always has been my whole life.






There is no way to write down here or describe the memories wrapped up in this home and piece of land. My whole childhood as well as adulthood have been spent here. I love Papa & Granny's house and I miss my Papa more and more each day. My Granny and Papa taught me so many things about life from farming to raising animals, to raising children, to loving your family. They taught me the important things in life.

Lance was gone working the first 8 days of my summer vacation, so Kaden and I were alone a lot. We were SO happy to see Daddy when he got home late Saturday evening. We went and met him for dinner at a steakhouse. Yummy!












And, finally, the reason i have enough time to type the world's LONGEST blog post is because I am riding on the bed in the back of the BIG TRUCK, and Kaden is strapped in his car seat next to Daddy riding along. We left last night and drove to San Antonio and we are on our way back homw now. We have stopped a couple places along the way to shop and eat out, of course! Good Times, but looking forward to our bed tonight! For now, I'm off. just rolling down the road, about to watch a movie I rented...(Something I NEVER have time to do)!!!
