What a neat date! I wonder how many babies where born today, or how many people got married because of the unique date? It would be an easy date to remember, that's for sure!
I thought I would show ya'll what we have been up to lately. Kaden is in L-O-V-E with his new Zebra toy. A lady actually GAVE this to Lance and Kaden on day when they had just come from the docotors office, they were at a near-by resale shop and a lady came in to see if the store wanted this item, they said they had too many of them, so she asked Kaden if he wanted it. Lance couldn't believe she gave it to him. He said it just goes to show, there are still good people in the world. Plus, Kaden was so cute, she couldn't resist! Ha!
Our grape vines in our yard actually produced fruit this year. Lance said the grape vines where here when he bought the house in the early 90's. This is the first time in years they have produced. Probably because I have cut them back to the stalk for 2 years now straight. They just needed to be pruned back!
The good news, Kaden LOVED them!
I thought they were a little bitter, sour. They probably needed to be picked and set for a couple weeks, you know that's at least how long it is before we eat them from the grocery store. Maybe then they would be sweeter. But, Kaden liked them as they were. So, I let him enjoy!

On my long four day weekend last weekend, I got some things 'decorated' around the house. I was so proud of myself for actually hanging these metal squares in the living room, I've been needing to hang them since summer!

Also, I found these REALLY cute chocolate and aqua towels at Wal-Mart to go in our chocolate bathroom. My Mom is painting me some canvases to go with these towels. I can't wait to hang them! :)
Kaden got this wallet sized framed photo of my grandparents down the other day. He knew that it was Granny, and he said "Nanny!" I asked him who else was in the picture? He said, "PaPa!" He knew! I didn't tell him that was Papa, he just knew. I miss my Papa so much, and I wish Kaden really knew Papa and not just a picture with Granny. My Papa would have went CRAZY over this little red-head!
Kaden got these funny glasses at a birthday party. He will not wear them, but teases me with them. He is so silly!

My two brothers and their families, my family, my Mom, and Kim and Chloe all have dinner together on Wednesday nights at my Granny's. We've been doing this for years.
There are a rediculous amount of summer/fall birthdays, and it seems every Wednesday night we have a cake for someone. We always have a cake on Wed. for who evers birthday it is, and if it is a kid, we have their party. Anyway, we've had TOO many parties lately. So much so that Kaden thinks EVERY time we get to Granny's now he gets CAKE. He goes in the door saying, "Cake" and pointing to Granny's dining table! It's a hoot! He LOVES cake! Here's Kaden eating cake...

And pinning the tale on the donkey...
I wanted to add more here, but I have been having a lot of computer problems for a couple weeks now, and have been unable to upload photos.
So, we'll see ya'll later!
Bye!

Look who's 20 months old today!
Hard to believe, but little Kaden Angus is 20 months old today!
He is one busy little boy! Always pulling things out all over the house, especially my silverware drawer, we have no clean spoons because the boy pulls them all out and plays with them.
He has a HUGE vocabulary. Some of my favorite are the color purple, he says 'people', he says 'heavy' anytime you pick him up or he picks up something heavy.
He says all his colors, pretty much all animals including giraffe, elephant, alligator, and there sounds.
He loves to run around like a crazy person and play, play, play. He is so silly and funny.
Kaden loves Barney, and we have about 10 Barney videos he watches over and over. If it isn't Barney, it's Elmo. He is crazy about those two. He can operate the VCR/DVD player himself to re start Barney, it's funny!
I love the way he says cookie with a T. Just put the T sound where you would use the c sounds. Too-tie. Ha! And I also love the way he says brocolli. He says big truck and tractor all the time, and makes the big truck honking sound.
My absolute favorite time of the day is my 30 minutes of back yard play time after I pick him up in the evenings after work. He plays so hard, and loves being outside.

He cries every single time we have to go back inside. So sad for a little boy!
Kaden, you are wearing all 3T clothes now. The pants are too ling for you and a little baggy, but the 2T's are too tight for you. You are wearing 6 diapers, and if there were a next size, I would be moving you into those, because you are too big for 6's already! You wear a size 8 shoe and are SOON to go up to 9. Your shoes are getting too small!

You are at such a fun 'play time' age. Every month you are ink different and I think that stage is my favorite, then you change my mind again every month. You are such a happy baby.
You are suffering just like Mommy and Daddy) from bad seasonal allergies right now. You are just like us with our symptoms, sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, allergy eyes, and general don't feel goods.
This is you at work with Mommy on a Saturday...
You are such a joy to our hearts. As your Daddy said to me this weekend, "Our lives will never be the same again, only better!" Your Momma and Daddy love you more than words little boy.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31

L-O-A-D-S of things...
Well, first of all we got our new refrigerator...
And, I didn't like it, so off to Lowe's we went to find another one...
Here's the final selection...
Isn't it pretty? Ha! Seriously, it STILL doesn't match our other stainless appliances, but after three tries to match, we have given up. Word of advice, don't try to match appliances one piece at a time. We got our stainless dishwasher 2 years ago, stainless stove/oven/microwave one year ago, and now the fridge. They change the body styles EVERY year, just like cars. So, even when you order directly from the manufacturer they do not match, even though they assured us it would. Oh well! We are Happy with this last choice though. What a nice appliance we have now. I have NEVER had water or ice in the door automatically in any house I have lived in, so that is really nice. And, our water consumption just went up! :)

When I was pregnant with Kaden, I totally fell in LOVE with chocolate brown. I guess how some people crave food, I had a craving to re-do our house! I thought about what I wanted to do to our old ugly wallpapered walls the entire time I was pregnant.
Our master bathroom was light mint green and white striped wall paper....Uuuggghhh!
So, now it is chocolate brown, like the dining room and kitchen... (I wish I could find my before picture of this room, it was B-A-D!)
I still have not 'decorated' anything. Just taking my time and being happy with the color changes! Ha!
I am so happy with how our solid wood blinds look through out the house. Every single window in our house has these custom cut blinds now. This is our little bathroom window.
We bought this new bedding at the furniture store when we bought our recliner and dining set, I just fell in love with it. ..
My greenhouse at school is coming right along. I have spent so much time working and planning for that thing! It is slowly coming together, and considering where we started, I am thrilled with the progress.
Both ends are closed in now. The shade cloth is on, and we have plants growing! YAY!

Next week, we will be building tables for my greenhouse plants. And, I ordered a sign for my greenhouse, can't wait to see how it turns out! Please cross your fingers that my/our plants grow quickly. We need to have our fall bedding sale to end of October! Not sure we are going to make it this first time with the late start, but I've got HOPE!
We planted these....
Ok, Megan, this is for you! My Good Samaritian finds from a couple weeks ago...
I found this super cute cross stiched print that says 'LOADS OF LOVE.' I am going to re-frame it and hang it in my laundry room! I also found a cute wooden basket/tray for the top of Lance's dresser for his 'drop spot.' Both things cost $1.08!!! Then, we found the rest at first Monday in Canton.
The three metal hooks are for Kaden's bedroom, and the colors matched his new paint colors in his room! So excited about them!
Also, I bought a jalapeno corer for stuffed peppers for the grill!
And, last but not least, I got these GREAT KADEN metal letters. I am going to use them in his room somehow.
The metal cowboy and little cowboy cut out is of Kaden and his Granddaddy. Looked JUST like them to me! We are going to use it as part of a Christmas gift for Granddaddy. So cute!
Kaden & I are excited about tomorrow being Saturday, we are going to get up early and hit the Good Samaritan sale, then maybe go to trades day again. I am off work today (Friday) and Monday! What a TREAT, and a much needed break from work. I am exhausted! One six weeks down already, 5 more to go until summer!
Ephesians 2 'And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ(by grace you have been saved.)'

Our little house, a little better...
We have been working on our house, slowly but surely, for a little over a year and a half now. One project at a time. And, we still have a few things to do, but I am just so pleased with how everything is looking now. I wanted to share some before and after pictures of our projects.
It is so funny to look back at this picture now, this was taken when Kaden was about 3 months old. We still had our old light fixture which was long florescent lights, the old original stove, oven, microwave, back splash, wall paper border, old bar stools, etc...
I didn't realize how DATED it looked until now!
Here is the same space after new ceiling fan instead of fluorescent lights, paint, stove, oven, microwave, bar stools, and back splash. All we lack it our stainless matching refrigerator, which we will have delivered this week! (So excited about that!) Finally, everything will match. We are moving the white side by side refrigerator to our utility room.
I think it is going to look so complete with the new fridge. The only thing we have left to do to the kitchen is new cabinet hardware to match the stainless stuff. And, if we stay here forever, we may one day replace counter tops. Other than that, it is complete! YAY!
Our dining room was VERY cramped with the 6 chairs and longer table. We bought a new round table and four chairs. It does have an insert to make the table longer, but it is perfect small for us for everyday use.
The before...All that wall paper! (That was fun, by the way!)
The after...
Finally, we are out of the 80's country blue wall paper! I love the darker wood furniture, I think it looks so much nicer than the white!
Our living room before...
Look at little bittie Kaden in that bouncy chair!!! Ha!
Old wall paper entry way...
The old couch... (HATED IT!)
We got rid of all Lance's old furniture! The couch, big blue recliner, coffee table, in tables, lamps, and got a new leather recliner. We got my king ranch antique cane back couch out of storage and my red coffee table and in table out of storage. I think it looks like a new place in there! (And, I'm NOT done!)
The new...
I still have to re-hang our big mirror centered and take the pictures down off the walls. I have some metal textured tiles to do a wall hanging with, I am excited to see how it looks when I get finished. I will post a more 'decorative' update once I find all the right pieces. I had a lot of antique red accessories and I just can not put them out right now because of little hands. He just can't leave them alone. So, no decorative accessories on the coffee table and end tables until he's bigger!
I love that I can use this old antique folding table as an entry way table now. And, no more wall paper at the front door! In fact, there is no more wall paper in this entire house. Thank Goodness!
Other rooms to come soon! Hope you are all enjoying your Labor Day. We are having brisket and all the fixings for lunch today. Yum!!!
Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it. Psalm 127
