Today marks our first wedding anniversary. Even though we have only been married for a year, I feel as though I have spent several long and happy years with Lance. It is just amazing to me how much I feel at home with my hubby. I feel like our souls have always known each other. It is truly God's answered prayers for my life that brought Lance to me. I never in a million years dreamed I could meet the love of my life in this little ole' town. Nor was I looking for him. I had given up on relationships for the time being, was focusing on making a big move for a better career option for myself, and spent all my extra time remodeling the old house I was living in. It's just crazy how God opens doors in my life when I least expect them. I had longed for so long for my soul mate, that person we would both feel at home with, and be able to have a family and know that we would always work together to make our marriage better.
My prayers were answered and then some! Lance & I were compatible from our first date and I can remember thinking after our first date that I must be CRAZY for falling for this guy so fast. What was wrong with me? I knew better. But, this time it was different, this time it was unconditional, soul mate love. We just fit together perfectly, and we were both each others answered prayer, because we had both given up on finding each other. Lance knew that he was going to marry me the first date, and he TOLD me! I told him he was CRAZY! (I secretly felt the same way, but I would have never admitted to it that night.)
On June 16, 2009, the anniversary of my Granny and Papa Fisher, my Papa had just passed away the week before, we got married at a small, private ceremony in my home church.
My life has been blessed this year with one good thing after another from God. My Lance, you are truly the love of my life, I couldn't ask for a better partner. Or a better daddy to our son. You are a giving and loving example of how all men should care for their family. I fall more and more in love with you as I see you with Kaden, how great you are with him, and how lucky Kaden & I are to have such a loving man. I have never known a man so willing to show his love for me. I thank God for you every day. I love you, my one true love. Happy Anniversary Honey!

An interview, a growing boy, telephone man and a pretty dog...
Well, I have debated whether or not to even mention this because I have interviewed for Ag positions so many times in years past to just be shot down it seems. And, each and every time I get my hopes up, even though I say I am not going to. This is a position were I would be working as the secondary Ag teacher under a very experienced Ag teacher. He was teaching when I was in high school and I know him from then. Anyway, I applied late Friday night on line and he called me today for an interview at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Now, that is quick turn-around! So, please say a little prayer for me because I would L-O-V-E to finally be in a position teaching what I really have wanted to do since high school. I will keep you posted with the outcome, he told me he is interviewing several people. So, we'll see!
Lance did not get the position he had interviewed for that would allow him to be home with us each day. They did not hire him because his brother-in-law worked for the company, and even though he is leaving the company, that's the position they are replacing, Lance would have to be supervised by B-I-L when at a certain facility working, so they didn't want to hire him. Which is retarded, but whatever! So, Lance is still LOOKING!!! The job market is REALLY bad right now.
Kaden set in his highchair for the first time this week to eat his dinner of rice cereal. He seems to enjoy it, and he looks like such a big boy! I can't believe how fast my little baby is growing into a B-I-G baby.

Yes, our dogs still live in this house and mommy is starting to have a little more time for the girls. While at Wal-Mart the other night I had to indulge in this dress for Sadie girl, it was on clearance for $3, and she looks precious in it! Yes, I bought a dress for my dog! :)

Sadie's dress says, 'Little Bit Country.'
Lance & I have kind-of had this joke going on for a while now. I told Lance when he had to go back to work after being home the first three weeks with us after Kaden was born that Kaden and he talked on the phone so much that Kaden was going to call him telephone man. So, Kaden's J.J. (Lance's Mom) says that Kaden will probably be the first Kindergartner with a cell phone to talk to his daddy. Well, Lance found a toy cell phone at the grocery store the other day. Here's Kaden with his cell phone talking to telephone man! ha!

And, here he is with his teething ring...

This company is GENIUS!!!

I love, love, LOVE this product. We bought this little gadget on our excursion to San Antonio on the BIG truck at HEB plus grocery store. We paid $6.99 for it which is cheaper than the $7.99 it sells for online. I honestly didn't think it would work or be worth the money, like all the other countless things we have tried out to find unsuccessful. But, this one is right on the money and I am ordering more! It works PERFECT for spoon feeding cereal or 1st step puree baby food. It prevents baby from grabbing the bowl and making that HUGE mess! It holds 3 ozs. of food and you just give it a gentle squeeze to push more out into the spoon. And, it really does WORK!!! We LOVE it!
This is by a company called boon, but the thing is actually called a squirt. I'm calling it our boon, like spoon!

Vacation Time!

I have to apologize for my more than a week long bloggy vacation. We have been busy enjoying Mommy's summer vacation so far. It all started with Kaden's four months well check, which I already reported here about, except his shots. He, again ran a low grade fever and was fussy/iritable for about a day afterwards. I don't blame him, I mean GEEZ! 6 vaccinations at once. That has to overwhelm the body, and it just makes me wonder if it is really safe or healthy to get all those shots at one time. I'd be more than grouchy, too!
Our buddy boy, Kaden, has been teething like crazy! He drools enough to wear a bib 24/7. And, he chews, sucks, gums EVERYTHING he can get to his little mouth. He has developed quite the personality, and his Daddy & I just LOVE it! We are having a BLAST with him right now. He is TOO, TOO funny and cute! He is such the GOOD baby. Always happy and content and plays so well with his toys.
Here's my pretty blue eyed boy!
We went to our appointment at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas. First of all, what am amazing place to visit! They are truly doing wonderful things in that place. And, all of the services and medical care/treatment is completely free of charge, which I was not aware of. Even if you are insured, you do not pay. It is run completely on charity and donations, and you have to be referred to get a visit or treatment. So, if you ever have the opportunity to donate to the cause, it's a good one. As far as Kaden goes the orthopedic surgeon says that he is a perfectly healthy and happy baby and that he would not even consider touching or thinking about treating his one webbed toe. He said it is fine the way it is. Which is really what my pediatrician said they would probably say and what we were kind-of hoping for as well. So, it is just his signature, trade mark, birth mark, whatever you'd like to call it. He'll always have something to show people, or not, it's up to him to decide.
I can NOT believe that I already have four months of pictures filled up in this baby's first year frame, it is going by TOO fast!

Our little pumpkin pie, Kaden, has been eating rice cereal for about a full week now every evening with a spoon. I am no longer putting cereal in his bottles at night or morning, I am spoon feeding him cereal, and he seems to like it. Imagine that? Our boy just likes to eat! We are going to try to wait though until about 6 months to start solids though. (Just rice cereal for now)

Kaden's J.J. bought him this new bouncy bouncy this week, he seems to agree with it well.

We have been practicing a lot of tummy time this week, trying to get Kaden to like it more than he does, but he's just not a fan. And, he isn't rolling yet, either. He will roll to his side but can't seem to kick that big thigh and leg over to completely roll over alone. We are being very patient and waiting for him to do this on his own, because I know once he starts he'll roll all the time!!!
Here's a picture of Kaden riding his horsey that Granddaddy Nolan (my Dad) built for him. And, his Daddy bought the red cowboy hat for him in Arizona on one of his work trips.
This is my sweetest boy laughing at his Mommy while playing, this just MELTS by heart. I love him SO much!!!

Kaden & I went to Chloe's dance recital last Sunday with my Granny. My pictures are not good, but here are a couple of the dancing girl! It was a hoot!
(Chloe is the one showing off her back side here.)
And, I hate that she had the rose right in front of one of her eyes here, but here she is afterwards.
When we were leaving the auditorium after the recital, I guess this squirrell was caught off guard when all the people poured out of the doors. He ran to the top of the stucco wall and held on for dear life. It stayed there FOREVER, I guess until everyone had left to come down, that couldn't have been comfortable.

I was driving down the road the other day and noticed the prettiest blue sky I'd ever seen, in a while anyway. I just stopped and soaked in the view, and thought how pretty it was, and how increadible this earth truly is.

This week marked one year ago since my Papa Fisher passed away. While I was on my sceanery taking kick, I decided to photograph one of my favorite places. My Papa & Granny's house, right on the lake. I love it, it is TRULY home, and always has been my whole life.

There is no way to write down here or describe the memories wrapped up in this home and piece of land. My whole childhood as well as adulthood have been spent here. I love Papa & Granny's house and I miss my Papa more and more each day. My Granny and Papa taught me so many things about life from farming to raising animals, to raising children, to loving your family. They taught me the important things in life.

Lance was gone working the first 8 days of my summer vacation, so Kaden and I were alone a lot. We were SO happy to see Daddy when he got home late Saturday evening. We went and met him for dinner at a steakhouse. Yummy!

And, finally, the reason i have enough time to type the world's LONGEST blog post is because I am riding on the bed in the back of the BIG TRUCK, and Kaden is strapped in his car seat next to Daddy riding along. We left last night and drove to San Antonio and we are on our way back homw now. We have stopped a couple places along the way to shop and eat out, of course! Good Times, but looking forward to our bed tonight! For now, I'm off. just rolling down the road, about to watch a movie I rented...(Something I NEVER have time to do)!!!

Our little cutie
Like I have mentioned to you all, we have a very happy little boy! Here's some more cute pictures of our sweetie!

Now, tell me you don't just want to eat him up? He has SWEET sugar, too! And, he is VERY ticklish. He will just cackle laugh when you kiss him! So sweet!

Knee update! I went to the dr today and I have a torn meniscus. I have been ordered to try to walk normal on it and not 'Give' to it. However, I am to wear a knee brace until it gets better. And, the best part, I can not do lunges, squats, or the cardio circuit including jump and jacks, jump rope, etc. In other words, The 30 day Shred is over. And, it really ticks me off because for once in my life I was pretty dedicated and determined to follow through with it. I can officially walk and bicycle ride for exercises now. Which is still pretty good, so I'm STILL going to give it a try but, no more shred, at least for now. Dang it!
P.S. My knee hurts!

Dr Visits
I have not blogged about a couple issues Kaden has specialist doctors appointments for, primarily because I didn't want anyone to be alarmed or worried. Our little man is perfectly healthy and happy, and these things are not life threatning. However, they are things that I have had great concerns about as a Mommy. I love my boy and I want him to be perfect, of corse!
The first appointment is at Scottish Right Hospital this Friday. We have waited two months for this appointment. Our pediatrician referred us at two months for this appointment. Kaden has a web between his second and third toes on his left foot. It isn't noticeable to anyone just glancing at his feet, you have to inspect them closely to see it. Our pediatrician seems to think they probably won't want to do anything about it, but as a mom, I hope they do fix it. Just because I want him PERFECT, like I said! It will probably never be noticed by anyone unless he points it out to them, and I doubt as a boy it will bother him much, but I am very curious to see what they say about it and what can be done about it. I'm his mommy, I want to fix him!
Second, we have an appointment on June 23 at STAR Cranial Center for an evaluation. Our pediatrician was concerned at two months about the shape of Kadens head, but more so concerned at this four month check up, she spent over an hour with us the other day evaluating Kaden before making this recommendation. Due to the SIDS "Back sleeping positioning" started some years ago across the country, more and more babies are suffering from mis-shaped heads. And, with my personal experiences in my family with SIDS, I have been a FAITHFUL back sleeper for Kaden. He's never sleep any other way. Now, he of corse, had a preferance for which side he wanted to turn his head to sleep in the beginning and still does now. To the right side. This has formed his head to a slope, point, whatever you want to call it, in the back, and it has tilted his ears. His ears actually look different sizes due to the tilting. So, darn me for having him sleep on his back all the time! ( I just did what I was told!)
Here's some info from the internet:
The "Back to Sleep" campaign has dramatically decreased the incidence of sudden infant death syndrome; however, its sequelae of deformational plagiocephaly have today reached epidemic proportions. In the last decade, we have learned to distinguish deformational plagiocephaly clinically from craniosynostosis, thereby preventing its unnecessary surgical correction. Primary care providers must increasingly be aware of this condition and, in turn, educate new parents about its prevention. Should preventative measures fail and infants develop persistent sleep patterns that result in craniofacial deformities, deformational plagiocephaly can be treated successfully with behavior modification or cranial molding-helmet therapy.
Our pediatrician is concerned enough to send us to get his head measured and scanned to see what kind of therapy may be needed to better shape his little head. Or, if anything needs to be done at all. Hopefully, nothing will need to be done! That's what I am secretly hoping for.
So, you can see why I haven't been dying to share all of this. It's hard to accept the fact that your baby isn't perfect, even though he is perfect in my eyes. I just want to fix all that we can for him if that is what the doctors recommend. I want him to be as normal as possible in this mean and judgemental world we live in that is facinated with beauty and appearance. Even though these things are not personally important to me, I want to give Kaden the best I can!
So, please keep little Kaden in your thoughts and prayers for both of these issues!

Four Month Birthday!

Kaden Angus turned four months today at 4:20 p.m. CRAZY! Crazy that he is four months already, but at the same time crazy that we haven't always had him here. I just could never imagine my life without him now. It is truly amazing how much this precious baby has changed our lives.
Kaden, love, here's all about you at four months old!
Weight: 17 pounds and 12 ozs. - 95% (Big Boy!)
Height: 26 1/2 inches - 95% (BIG Boy!)
Head: 17 1/4 inches - 90%
You are wearing some 6 months clothes still, but you are primarily wearing 6-9 month clothes right now. You are drinking 6 oz. of formula every 3-4 hours while awake, but sleeping at least 8- 10 hours at night. You get 1 scoop of rice cereal mixed in your morning and night time bottle if Mommy doesn't spoon feed you then. We are still working on the spoon feeding issue. You are wearing size 3 Pampers Cruisers diapers. We REALLY like these diapers. (We have some left over size 2 diapers for you CRYSTAL, if you ever get to that size!)

Kaden, your eyes are still BLUE. And, they are BEAUTIFUL! We don't think they are going to change, they are too pretty! You LOVE your toys. Your stuffed horse and snuggly bear are your favorites, but you chew, gum every toy you can get to your mouth. Mommy can't feel any teeth yet, but we are positive you are teething.

Your Daddy & I love you so much baby boy!!!
