It is amazing to me that it has been one year this afternoon that I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, and happy little boy. Kaden Angus Mabe was born February 2, 2009 at 4:20 p.m., on a Monday. We got to bring him home on February 4, 2009, Lance's 40th birthday. Lance says that this is the best birthday he could ever dream of. Kaden is the most precious gift to us that we could ever receive.
It's amazing how much you change when you have a baby. Lance and I are both completely different people than we were one year ago today. When you hear people say that having a baby changes everything, I never dreamed it was so true. It completely changes every aspect of your life, but for the better. There is nothing like it in this life. And, I never understood how much my mom loves me until having Kaden, now I know. It also changes your respect and relationship with your parents. Now we know what we put them through, and feel bad for it! And, I was a GOOD kid! :)
Kaden has had MANY MILESTONES THIS YEAR. Here are a few of our favorite memories...

Happy, Happy First Birthday Baby Boy! We love you with all our hearts!

Missing Our Mo Mo
One year ago this morning, my family lost a very tender and dear soul to us. Montana Lane Fisher passed away in his sleep, in his crib on the morning of January 31, 2009. He was 15 months old and the son of my first cousin, Kimberly. I was there with Kim in labor and delivery when she gave birth to Montana. There is something special about sharing that moment, hours, day with someone. I had a special bond with Montana from day 1. I always videoed him and photographed him as if he was mine. I loved him so much, he brought so much joy to my life. I had such a dream of Mo Mo and Kaden being great buddies and friends their whole life. It breaks my heart that Montana never got to meet my Kaden and that I don't get to have pictures of them together growing up. The whole in my heart can never truly be replaced or filled. Montana Lane, you are loved and missed so much today and everyday. It has been a horrible year for Kimberly, as you can imagine, Montana, please continue to watch over your Mommy! It is hard to believe it has been a year since this horrible day in our lives. Montana truly touched everyone he met, he was a DOLL! Here is Montana saying, "MOO COW!"
I have MUCh better videos with Mo Mo in them, but this computer will not upload any of my longer videos!

Boys will be boys!
Today at J.J.'s house while perfecting his walking skills, Kaden fell and hit the wooden dining room chair. He is going to have a nice shiner tomorrow I'm sure. Just in time for his birthday party in a few days. But, I guess boys will be boys.
So, heres a picture of his eye tonight.
The other picture on here is of Kaden sticking his blue bear and clothes into the drawer under the oven. Hopefully, I won't catch the house on fire by forgetting to check the drawer before I use the oven!!!
My sweet husband cleaned the carpets yesterday in our whole house and the house smells so good now, and it feels so good to have clean carpets! I never got the energy enough to check that off my 'to do' list last weekend. I have a lot 'to do' this weekend. Kaden has a birthday party in a few days, and I am SO excited about his birthday.
I can not believe my baby is about to be one! CRAZY! It has went by SO fast, this whole year! I have cherished every moment of this year, even the hard days, which luckily now looking back don't seem so bad. I can not believe my baby is WALKING! I watch him walk from room to room in amazement, and he looks so CUTE!
Kaden got to have a new experience in the car last night. Since we are only a few days away from his first birthday, we decided to go ahead and turn Kaden's car seat facing forward last night. He LOVES IT! Mainly because we played the car DVD player for the first time and he got to watch Harry the Bunny and Shushybye Baby. He was LAUGHING at the tv in the car! It was so neat to see him so happy!
Tomorrow is Friday. Thank Goodness! I'm tired, it has been a long week at work and I am ready to stay at home with my baby for the weekend. I don't plan to go or do anything!!! I love being a home body these days. It's nice to stay home these days. I honestly can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be. Plus, it is supposed to be a NASTY weekend, cold, wet and maybe frozen? Good time to stay inside with the ones you love.
Hope you all enjoy your weekends.

Kaden's Week!
Kaden has had a BIG week. Today that top tooth is FINALLY in! We can see it when he grins or opens his mouth wide! It looks so funny to see a tooth on top! So, now we have three teeth! Finally!
Kaden is very busy these days...
My good friend, Leah, sent this outfit to Kaden for Christmas. It's a Texas Flag Western onsie with Wrangler bloomer bottoms. So sorry his cowboy boots no longer fit him. Thanks for the outfit Miss Leah! It's TOO CUTE!
Loves to push butttons on tv and dvd player...
Plotting his next move...

This ALL took place before 7 a.m. people!
Later in the morning I had to barakade him into the living room with dining chairs so I could mop! He didn't agree with this too much and threw a fit to get with me in the kitchen. So, I had to let him have some puffs so I could finish quickly!
Kaden had big boy peas and carrots tonight for dinner. I bought canned peas and carrots of the canned vegetable aisle, instead of baby food, it's a lot cheaper, and he is totally into feeding himself now!
And, a little after dinner soak...

Trying to drink out of his bath tub cup that I use to wash him off with!
Big Drink! (But, there was nothing in there! Ha!)
Then, he helped Mom do his laundry!
He LOVES laundry and likes to 'help'. He is not much help, but he doesn't know that.
You have probably also noticed that this is his third outfit of the day. Lets just say that teething make Kaden have bathroom issues that aren't real fun for mommy.
And, now finally, Kaden is in his crib asleep for the night. So, I finally have a moment to type this!
I bar-b-qued chicken wings on the grill today and then got to use my Buffalo Wild Wing Sauce on them. They were Yum-o! Even Lance liked them, and he isn't a wing fan. (Or maybe he just told me he liked them, either way, I think he did because he got more!)
I got all the hard floor surfaces in my house mopped today. I would be embarrased to say when the last time I mopped was, wish I could remember. Yuck! But, my floors look and feel so clean now! Totally worth it to have clean floors! Tomorrow I hope to get out the carpet cleaner, but that just isn't a hole lot of fun, so I keep putting it off, but I need to.
Also, I haven't done a weight update in a while. I have been eating okay, I've had several slack off days and then I'll do good for several days, but haven't walked OR worked out since before Christmas! Pretty sad to admit. I am getting back on my workout schedule MONDAY. I weigh 146 right now, and want to weight 138! So, I have 8 pounds to loose, which I KNOW I can do with excercise. So, back to work I go!
Speaking of work, the school year is halfway over, thank goodness. I am really looking forward to summer with my little guy this year. I think we are going to have lots of great adventures this summer. It is SO hard for me to go to work each day and leave him, but I just keep telling myself that I am doing what I have to do. Oh how I would love to stay home with him.
I have been faithfully reading my Bible each day. I had started reading my Bible everyday the beginning of October, starting with Genesis and reading through the Bible. I decided just before the first of the year, that I needed to go back and start a journal, and take notes as I read through the Bible. I have now read and taken notes and written scripture to memorize or use as reference for Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and I have just begun Joshua. I am enjoying it so much, and have gained so much knowledge and great scripture to equip myself with. What a great gift God has given to me to have His word, and I have neglected the fact that I could use His word all these years. It's increadible how God has opened my eyes and changed me spiritually this year. I am so thankful that God forgives me and loves me unconditionally, and has waited so paitiently for me my whole life to turn over this new leaf. It feels so good to be living in God's word.
