My Wedding CAKE!!!

We call it Marguerite White Cake (That is my step-mom, Cay's mother)

You can do this cake two ways, one is with Pineapple and one without. My Wedding Cake was without. If you choose to do the Pineapple juice-put pineapple between layers with butter cream icing. Frost with 7 minute icing otherwise.

Ok, here's the recipe MEGAN! :) (This recipe was DOUBLED for my wedding cake

2 scant Cups Sugar
2 3/4 Cups Cake Flour
2 t baking powder
Sift all dry ingredients together!


1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Milk (or Pineaplle juice if doing the pineapple recipe)
6 egg whites
1 t vanilla

Beat egg whites until whip cream consistancy. Fold in dry ingredients slowly into wet ingredients.

Use 8 or 9 inch cake pans and bake 20-25 minutes at 350. Watch cake carefully, do not over cook! If you do the pineapple recipe top with coconut flakes!

Ice with Buttercream icing! This cake is SO MOIST and YUMMY!!! Enjoy!

Our little boy will be 6 months old tomorrow! We can't believe it! So, look forward to a 6 month post tomorrow with lots of pictures!

Show us your life...Our Wedding Day

This is part of the Kelly's Korner blog called SHOW US YOUR LIFE-WEDDINGS!

Lance & I had a very small, private wedding ceremony in my home church. This post is going to be VERY picture heavy because I've never really gotten to show off all of our Wedding Day! And, I noticed after I spend 2 hours uploading all these photos to this post that I didn't upload the EDITED photos, so I have red eyes in most of these pictures, oh well! So, here goes:

This was me before the ceremony in our front yard! Here's my dress and my roses!





We decided to keep it casual and cost effective. We honestly had the time of our lives, I loved our little ceremony and reception.








I wore a simple black and white sundress (it was H-O-T that day, June 16th!), and Lance wore a heavy starched white shirt with his Wranglers and cowboy hat, his choice! I think we looked great and we were certainly comfortable. I had a simple red rose bouquet that I made myself!




Our wedding ceremony was a very sweet Christian ceremony and we shared it with our closest family only.


( I said it was casual, look at Lance's neice, Chandra, the way she is sitting in the pew and her shoes off! Oh My, the things that get captured in pictures! lol!)

My Granny was there because she too shares our Anniversary date (57 years, one week shy of 58 years when my Papa passed away, the week before our wedding)

And, that was it! Very private and we LOVED it that way!

Our reception was held in the home of my Dad and step-Mom Cay. My step-mom (bless her heart, went above and beyond, on her own, to throw us a reception, and it was beautiful!)



She made us the BEST cake I've ever eaten in my life (which I am going to have to share the recipe for here one day), it was a plain white cake, but OMG Good!











We also had the BEST green grapes Lance recalls EVER eating, he LOVED them! We had other little treats there as well with sparkling cranberry cocktail for drinks. Cay did a wonderful job of hosting our wedding reception, and being at my Dad's house really meant a lot to me.

Camping at Lake Ouachita, Arkansas plus a RECIPE

We left last Friday morning at the crack of dawn to meet up with my family and drive to Arkansas. We seriously had a convoy of trucks, campers, and cars on the drive up. We were all loaded down with bicycles on the back of the campers and trucks. Both my brothers, my two sister-in-laws and both my brothers kids came along as well as my mom and step-dad and my Granny. We had a good time! Minus a few hundred chigger bites on my legs and my Granny falling out of the camper and hurting herself. (Bless her heart, it scared us all so badly! She is just bruised, we think!)




While camping we mainly just sat around and visited with everyone as best we could in the heat and humidity! Geez, so much for thinking it would be cooler in Arkansas! Lance & I went bike riding up the mountains (ouch my legs!), we went swimming in the lake with nieces and nephews (huge progression for both of us who HATE getting in lakes!) (THAT'S HOW HOT IT WAS!!!!), and we also went on a 3 hours strenuous hike through the national forest. We thought we were lost before it ended! We were tired and I'm sure that is were I picked up my little chigger friends! Uuuggghhhh! Why me?






Some little critter had made a front porch on their house...ha!







Kaden was the BEST baby the whole trip and laughed and entertained everyone. He slept good at night and enjoyed playing the whole trip. He will sit up alone now, and I will put a little blue plastic bucket in front of him that has about three toys for him to choose from and that will entertain him for hours. He loves to look at things and watch how his hands work! It's pretty cute!

Cream Cheese Butter!!! That's Right, Cream Cheese Butter!!! What could be better? Or easier to make?

I used my Kitchen Aid mixer again! I put equal parts of butter and cream cheese in the mixing bowl and let it set there and soften (maybe 30 minutes), then using the paddle I mixed it all together and put it in our recycled butter dishes.

It is just YUMMY on breads, rolls, bagels, sweet rolls, or anything you use butter on!
