Health food to blog about, and Kaden's day

I have tried a few new "HEALTHY" foods, and they are GREAT! I'm not just saying that! I must tell you they all came from Costco though. First, some chips! I found these chips called pop chips. They are not fried or baked. They are popped potatoes with air! No kidding, and they LOOK and TASTE JUST LIKE REGULAR POTATO CHIPS! They are FABULOUS!!!

Photobucket

They come in a huge bag and cost about $6.00 for the bag. I take them out of the chip bag and store them in gallon size ziplocs so they will stay fresher. It fills up TWO gallon ziplocs. Lots more chips than you get in ANY potato chip bags and SO much better for you! Now, these I have are barbeque potato, but they have several flavors.

Photobucket

Second, some tortilla chips that are called, "Food Should Taste Good." They are Multi Grain chips made with flax seed, Sunflower, and Sesame, Oat Fiber, Brown Rice, Soy. They are YUMMY, and SO good for you! They are just like eating a tortilla chip, but they are big enough and thick enough to be used as a cracker too!

Third, Flat Out Flatbread. I am in LOVE with this product! I make sandwiches, roll-ups, pizzas, etc. with this stuff. You can almost do anything you do with bread. It tastes so good, and it is so much better for you than bread!

Just wanted to share some diet friendly finds that I LOVE!!!

Also, I just figured out HOW TO UPLOAD MY VIDEOS!!! HUGE STEP FOR ME!!! THIS IS THIS MORNING OF KADEN. PLEASE IGNORE THE ANNOYING MOMMY TALK AND SINGING!!! HA!

Kaden has been S-U-P-E-R busy today! He is officially WALKING! I can't wait to share a better video clip of him really walking well. He looks so cute walking around! He can go forever now, from one room to the next, he has really taken off the last couple days.

Kaden has played his heart out today. He is such a good baby and plays so hard. He pushes his cars around (natural instinct because we didn't teach him) and makes a "Bbbrrrrmmmm" sound for the car! Too funny!

He also plays well with his blocks, ball popper machine, and he LOVES his books!

Christmas is finally over now!

We just had our LAST Christmas party last night at my Granny's. So we are done with Christmas now, thank goodness! :) Kaden had a great time last night at the party, and he got lots of cool new toys.

I had gone into a whole rant and rave session about these oreos pictures below earlier today, and somehow my blog deleted, probably for the better. All I'm going to say is this. My Uncle Teddy thinks it's wonderful to give every baby in our family a bag of oreos their first Christmas, regardless of their age. I don't agree with this, and my child does not eat chocolate or oreos yet. Here is Kaden opening his oreos and getting a taste of one. I promptly removed the oreo from his mouth after this picture! He did not eat it! Thanks Grandpa Mark for your help with this, he knows how I feel about this. Kaden is in Grandpa Mark's lap in these pictures.

My creation

Thank you, Megan, for your help on how to make these pictures look like this! It is my first attempt and took me forever! Ha!

Kaden is practicing his mad computer skills these days!

It drives me crazy!!!

I survived week one of being back at school. It seems like it was 2 or 3 weeks back, but that is besides the point. This week DRUG by at work. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I have a sinus infection, which I have had since the beginning of the school year in August and it keeps reoccurring, worse each time it re occurs. This week my gums swelled, I got a cold sore, and my face started swelling. So, I am FINALLY going to an ear, nose, and throat doctor on Tuesday. Maybe I can get some relief soon. Let me tell you, I have spent the whole fall TIRED and dragging and I believe it is all because of these sinus infections, which have been so bad this week I have been unable to hold my eyes open at work. What I wouldn't give to be able to sleep in or sleep this weekend. But, Kaden is not allowing that! Oh the joys of motherhood!

Kaden has a tiny piece of TOP tooth popping through the gum line this morning! FINALLY he is getting his third tooth and a top one at last! I was beginning to think maybe he isn't going to have any more teeth!

Kaden is walking, or perfecting his skills. He'll stand for LONG periods of time and he can take about four steps for now. He'll be on the go soon! He looks so cute walking!

And, He's Off!!!

Kaden got his walker, push along toy last night, and he is off walking all over our house! He LOVES it! It is so FUN to see him go, and he is So proud of himself when we clap and say "YAY Kaden!" We are having WAY to much fun with him!

We went over to some friends house last night and played an 80's music trivia game, it was a BLAST! Something we need to get out and do more often. This is Daddy and Kaden packing Kaden's diaper bag.

I also wanted to write about my surprise visit from my step sister Tonya for Christmas. I didn't know that she, her Mom, and her little boy Lewis were coming until a couple days before their trip here. Remember, Tonya lives in Mesa, Arizona and lost her husband and brother last January in a vehicle accident. This is the first time our family has been reunited since all the tragities last January. It was a joyous reunion and I am SO happy she came to see us!
Tonya got to come to my Mom's Christmas....

They put on a wonderful show! Lance was out on tour with them two years ago (drove a truck for them), so he wanted to take me to see a show. It was amazing!

Tomorrow, I go back to work. Lance goes back today. We aren't looking forward to it at all! So, if you don't hear from me you know why, we are back in the GRIND! It's a LONG time until Spring Break!!!

Eleven Month Birthday!

Photobucket

Wow! Today is Kaden's Eleven month Birthday! That is just CRAZY! In one month we will be celebrating a FIRST BIRTHDAY! I've always dreamed about my babies first birthday party, and now that it is here, I have done no preparation toward it! We've got to get busy, I have lots to do to get ready for his party! We need a first birthday outfit, party decorations, a cake (what kind of cake am I willing to let him have?), party favors, gifts, invitations, ice cream, etc.... Oh My! I better get busy! Also, Kaden's birthday is on a Tuesday, and Lance is off work on Tuesday and Wednesdays, so do I make it a middle of the week party, on his birthday, and convenient for us, or do I do a Sat. or Sun. and not be convenient for us? Oh, the decisions to be made.

Photobucket

Kaden is So busy these days. He waves and greets everyone and everything, including the dogs, with a Hi! It sounds more like "I", but he means Hi! It's toooo...sweet and cute. He took four steps yesterday in a row before falling. He is starting to try to walk to and from two people. He's doing a great job. He doesn't even realize he is walking most of the time. He'll be holding on to a toy or the coffee table and just take off a few steps before he realizes he is doing something different. I can't believe we will have a full blown walker on our hands very soon. He is SO fast, he can go all the way through the house from one room to another before you realize he's gone. He gets into everything you could ever imagine, and things you would never imagine a baby getting into he does. He loves Piper, and calls her, "Pa" "Pa". He says "Mama" a lot, as well as Daddy now. He says NaNa, J.J., Ba (for ball). He loves to throw balls, loves telephones (the real ones), loves remote controls, keys, and any other item you don't want him to have.

Photobucket

Kaden is eating lots of new table foods including beans of any kind mushed up, he loves them! He is also eating baked sweet potato and regular baked potato. He had his first kids meal at IHOP the other day with Lance and I. We got him a pancake and scrambled eggs. He LOVED it and ate almost ALL of it, we couldn't believe it. He ate the pancake plain. (No syrup yet!) He also loves Gerber Graduates Zesty Tomato Puff Chips, Puffs, Yo Baby Yogurt, Stage 2 baby foods, some stage 3 ( they gag him for the most part on stage 3.) He also has any fresh veggies we have cooked, some bread pieces, and softened Cheerios. I have been holding off on a lot of foods because he still only has two teeth on bottom.

Photobucket

Kaden weighs approximately 26 pounds, and still has beautiful blue eyes! He is wearing a size 4 diaper, (5 diaper to sleep in at night only) , 18 month clothes, size 6 shoe (and he doesn't have any at the moment, we just wear socks!) He likes all his new toys he received for Christmas and plays with them very well. We are going out today to use his Christmas gift cards and buy him a toy to push around, walk behind. I think that will have him walking in NO TIME!

Photobucket

Kaden is C-R-A-Z-Y about his Daddy. When the dogs start barking that Lance is home, Kaden trys to beat them to the door to get to Daddy first. He will start crying if the get ahead of him. So funny and cute! He can't wait to see Lance and he wants to be held the second Lance comes in the door. He is VERY clingy toward Lance this last couple weeks, he wants Daddy and Daddy only. It's very sweet, but I think Lance is starting to get a taste of what it feels like to be Mommy and never have a minute to yourself. Ha! That little boy surely loves his Daddy though.

Photobucket

We are looking forward to his first birthday, and can't wait to celebrate on February 2, 2010! This year has flown by so quickly, and our baby is growing up so quickly! Momma and Daddy love you, Kaden Angus, you make us so proud!

New Shoes for the New Year?

Kaden had received a pair of these WIGGIES shoes as a gift from my good friend Catherine a few months ago. This is what our Wiggie shoes look like:

Photobucket

We have LOVED them, and he has now outgrown them. I can find NO OTHER shoes that fit so easily, stay on better, and let them walk or crawl or whatever just like they aren't wearing any shoes.
I have had a HARD time finding ANY shoes to fit Kaden, and these fit PERFECTLY! They are all leather with an elastic band around the ankle to hold the shoes on, and they just slide right on and off with ease. I'm in LOVE with them.
My pediatrician recommends that babies do not wear shoes until after they are walking because it isn't good for their feet and they can grip/learn to stand easier bare footed. She just recommends gripper socks, which I have also had a hard time finding for Kaden. However, these little shoes are TERRIFIC when we have to have shoes on. (Which isn't very often, but he's almost walking and I know he is going to need some shoes soon.) And, he has not a SINGLE pair of shoes right now.
So, I just visited the WIGGIES website after referring to my shoe box the gift came in, and the place is having a CLOSEOUT sale. They are going out of business. NO!!!

I thought I would share this website in case anyone else wants to get some great leather shoes for your baby at a GREAT price, $12 or $14 a pair, regular $23 and $26 a pair.

I just ordered these two pairs of shoes for Kaden:

Like I said, it is a closeout sale, so a lot of the sizes are out already. These were the only two colors I could find in K's size. But, I love these shoes so much that I'm not worried with the colors! These shoes are hand made and have a terry cloth lining in them to absorb moisture. They also WASH in the machine, I've done it and they are leather so they hold up well!

Now, my friend Catherine did tell me that they took a few weeks to come to her house, but I figure it is worth it to me, WE NEED THE SHOES!!!

Here's the website: www.wiggees.com

We can't wait to get our new wiggies in the mail!
(P.S. I am not getting paid to advertise for Wiggies, I am doing this on my own, I just want to share great products with other Mommy's!)

A New Year!

It's 2010! That's just hard for me to believe this morning as I reflect on the last year, the several years, and the last decade. A lot has happened in my life. A lot that I never thought would or could happen, and a lot that I am so thankful for. I think it is a good thing to look back. But, as I looked back through my 2009 pictures I have to admit I cryed. A BIG year for me and my family!

Lance and Kaden are watching the Rose Parade right now, and I am relaxing and writing this blog..ha!

Here's a look back at our year, 2009....

I have always been a very goal oriented person. And, the last year I have really slipped, and want to get better at writing down both short term and long term goals for my life. Here are a few of the things I want to accomplish in 2010:

1. Read my Bible DAILY! All 365 days this year.
2. Make my husband more of a priority. (He deserves it!)
3. Loose 10 pounds! Goal Weight: 138

There it is, written out! So, now MAYBE I'll hold myself more accountable!
