Getting Ready for Baby!

Lance & I had such a wonderful weekend preparing for this baby boy. We were able to spend the whole holiday weekend together, and for that I am so thankful. He returned home Wed. evening and was able to be home until Sunday morning. Thursday, we spent the whole day with our families. We started the day at my Granny's for lunch, then to his Mom's for dinner, and finally by my Dad's that night. We got plenty to eat, and we enjoyed visiting with all our family! On Friday, we went to Dallas shopping. We actually waited until about 1p.m. to go out shopping. We went to Babies-R-Us to buy a mattress for our baby crib, and were able to use our shower gift cards, and got a GREAT deal on our mattress, it was on sale 50% off. Then, they only had one left and it had a small cut in it from the people unpacking the boxes. So, we got a $199 mattress for $53! So, we were able to use all that money to buy all the other little items we still needed. For example we got a scan thermometer, baby monitor, bedding, bottles, some small rattles and toys, bath accessories, etc. We spent $212 total after using our gift cards, and got over $600 worth of stuff! We were very excited, and thankful that we decided to brave the crowds. Then, we went over to Lance's work so he could pick up some paperwork. So, I got to see what it's like when he goes to work. Then, we ended the night eating my FAVORITE Freebird's World Burrito in Addison. OMG! I needed that burrito! Another reason I LOVE my husband, he's not crazy about the place but he took me there. On Saturday, we went and bought storage containers to continue making room for the baby stuff in the house, we also bought the ONLY Christmas decorating I'm doing this year. Three poinsettias, one little table tree, and a front door Merry Christmas rug! And, I'm going to get a door wreath....other than that we are not DECKING the halls this year, primarily because I don't feel like it, and I know I really won't want to take it down later. After our shopping yesterday we went to a nice dinner on the square at a new rest. and winery. It was delicious! Lance wanted us to spend some quality time together, and after dinner we walked around the downtown square and looked at the cute little shops. We had a great time together yesterday, it was a great date day! I just love my husband and couldn't be more thankful for the time we get to spend together. We are both so excited to meet this baby boy. And, we are finally getting it all put together and ready for him. I hope your all looking forward to the holidays with your families, we are surely getting excited about our little boy. Only 9 more weeks!

Thanksgiving at 30 weeks pregnant!

This is Montana on Thanksgiving Day at my Granny's house! Wrinkling his nose making the mean face for me!

Sweet baby boy Montana, he is almost 14 months old, walking everywhere, and becoming quite the entertainer!

My honey and me on Thanksgiving Day!

Lance & I

I am 30 weeks pregnant today! Our baby boy should be just over three pounds, and is SO active in my belly. He turns, sticks his hands and feet out, and spots on my upper belly get really hard, it's either his little head or butt, I can't tell which! It is such a neat thing to have this baby boy growing away inside of me, but at the same time I am running out of space for him to grow! I am getting huge, or at least I feel huge. I am weighing in at 172 this week, which is 37 pounds heavier than pre-pregnancy weight. I don't feel like I look that heavy because it is all in my belly, but I am that heavy, 2 more pounds and I will out weigh Lance.
The great thing about being 30 weeks on Thanksgiving week is being able to eat what ever I want, I'm already pleasantly plump, so snack on! Which is what I do now, eat about 5 or 6 small snacky meals per day. Now, by Christmas I may be a little less able to eat, due to space issues! I'm running out of room to breath.
It has been nice so far being off work this week, I have been napping about 3 hours a day and sleeping about 10 hours a night, between all the pee and water wake up calls every three hours or so. I'm so THIRSTY! And, I drink more more water than I ever have. Also, last week the nurse called to tell me that my iron levels were low, so I started taking iron supplements this week, hopefully that will help some with the extreme tiredness all the time. And, another lovely pregnancy symptom has appeared this week, actually yesterday morning, my colostrum has started coming in, so I'm thinking breast feeding will not be an issue.
I worked on the babies room today most of the day, organizing the dresser, clothes, and all the baby accessories. I also made a list of the things we still have to get before the baby comes. I am getting a little nervous about getting all the things before the baby comes, it's all so expensive. So, I updated my babies r us registry with all the things we still need/didn't get yet. Hopefully, we'll get some of the items for Christmas?

I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday with your families, and get plenty of yummy food to eat! I am so thankful for my husband and baby on the way this year, I couldn't feel more thankful for what I have been given this year, thanks be to God!

Shower of Love

On Sunday, November 16 my best friend Hilary, as well as my Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law, and Mom had a baby shower for us. The day was LOTS of fun, and we got lots of baby goodies. Thank you all who came and shared with us this special time preparing for our baby boy! Here's Hilary! My Best Friend! Our photo opportunities are SLIM anymore, so I'm happy we got a least a good one yesterday! (LOOK AT MY BELLY!!!! OMG, I can't believe it!)

My Mom, the artist of the family, painted this for our baby. It has Piper, Sadie, and our Jack (Donkey) in it. Thank you Mom!!!

Punch bowl....the duck was supposed to float on the clouds, but he was a little head heavy!

The food table! My M-I-L and S-I-L overdid themselves on the food! It was increadible, they worked SO hard on all the food, thank you ladies!

More to come!!!!

Doctor Check-up

Yesterday, we had our 28 week check up with the doctor. At the visit, we got to hear little boy banging around in my belly on the Doppler. Dr. Doughtie seemed shocked that I had gotten so big. He said, "That baby has really grown!" Everything seems to be going well. They gave me a lovely orange glucose tolerance beverage, and an hour later they drew blood for the glucose test. They also drew blood to check my iron level again, and I received the lovely rhogam shot in the bottom. The shot was not any worse than any other shot I've had, in fact the flu shot hurts a lot worse! So, I am all taken care of for now, and hopefully all my blood work comes back normal. We scheduled my next appointment for December 5. Following that appointment, they have us scheduled that afternoon to go pre-register at the hospital. So, that was a reality wake up call for me. Wow! This is really going to happen! So, I have spent the afternoon doing the first of many loads of baby laundry.

The nursery is shrinking!

It seems the more pieces of furniture we get, the less and less space there is in that tiny to start with room! (Duh, I know.) But, I really thought things were going to fit into the nursery better. It all started with the dresser that I refinished that is also going to serve as a changing table, maybe... Then, Lance bought me my FABULOUS PLUSH glider rocker recliner and ottoman, which I love, but takes up WAY to much space in the baby's room. (It is still in the living room, so I can sit in it while watching T.V. with my feet up) And, the newest edition came this last week. My Mom & Step Dad bought us this new crib. Lance put it together on Thursday night. His first of MANY nights to BUILD new baby stuff, I am sure. Once he got the crib all put together, the room seems really small. So, there will be no other major furniture pieces fit or go into the baby's room. We will have the rocker and ottoman, the crib, the dresser, and maybe a night stand with a lamp. Other than that it's all going somewhere else, because we have no room for anything else. I have NO IDEA where we will store all the baby items, I guess my house will just be CLUTTERED! Where do you put stuff like a Pack'n' Play, or Swing, or high chair, or all the other misc. baby gear items? It's definately a problem with our little house! And, it's not that our house is ever so little, but it has NO STORAGE built in anywhere.
I am OFFICIALLY in the 3rd trimester, and 7 months pregnant today! I am so glad to be making progress toward getting this baby boy here. We want to see him so bad, his Daddy wants to hold him and spoil him, he talks about it all the time. We have decided that if I haven't gone into labor before February 4, my due date, that I will get induced that morning. This way, Lance & the baby boy can share their birthdays. But, I have forwarned Lance, I have no control over if he decides to come earlier than this date!
My best friend, Hilary, my M-I-L, my S-I-L, and my Mom are throwing me a baby shower this Sunday, November 16. I can't believe it is already time for a shower, I thought the time would never come! I am excited to hopefully see lots of people I don't get to see regularly, and catch up a little. Only 12 weeks to go until the Mabe Babe Boy makes his arrival, I can't believe it!!! But, we are so excited to get him here.
